As we trek through the picturesque northern Thai forest, you’ll be surrounded by typical scenery of the region. Our destination is the Huay Sathan Waterfall, where you can take a refreshing dip in the cooling waters and find respite from the tropical heat.

In the afternoon, get ready for an adrenaline-pumping whitewater rafting experience. Aſter our morning trek, we’ll gear up with helmets and life jackets and receive a briefing on paddling commands. It’s time to hit the rapids of the Mae Taeng River, which boasts 14 gorges and a range of grade 3 to 5 rapids. Known for its thrilling whitewater raſting, the Mae Taeng River is considered one of the top destinations for rafting in Asia.

In the morning, accompanied by our knowledgeable local guide, we venture into the forest to observe the elephants from a safe distance. We’ll have the opportunity to witness these gentle giants grazing, socializing, and engaging in playful activities. As we enjoy a delicious Thai vegetarian lunch (included), we’ll have a panoramic view of a mud pit where the elephants bathe and play, further deepening our connection with these incredible creatures.

During our visit, we’ll learn about the sanctuary’s mission and the significance of elephants in Thai culture. We’ll also gain insights into the history and traditional practices of the local community at the Karen Cultural Centre, where we’ll have the chance to participate in weaving clothing and bags under the guidance of community members.

Back in Chiang Mai, we have arranged a special Thai experience for you in the evening—a one-hour Thai massage. The masseuses providing the massage are certified instructors and, more importantly, are ex-inmates who have been given the opportunity for retraining and employment. Through our collaboration with local charities, we aim to reduce conviction rates for women in Chiang Mai and address the societal issues that contribute to this situation. By participating in this massage experience, you will not only enjoy a rejuvenating treatment but also contribute to the betterment of the community.

We understand the importance of spices in Thai cuisine and want to share the secrets of creating spectacular traditional Thai meals. As our train heads towards Bangkok, we have a special stop in the morning at Ayutthaya, the former capital of Siam. This historical city, once one of the most powerful in Asia, holds a wealth of cultural treasures waiting to be discovered. We will transfer to a local restaurant for breakfast and refreshments before embarking on our exploration.

During our time in Ayutthaya, we will have the opportunity to witness a demonstration and indulge in a tasting of a local street food delicacy called roti sai mai. This delightful treat consists of a thin pancake wrapped around strands of thin-spun cotton candy, a dish that has become synonymous with the Kingdom of Ayutthaya.

In the afternoon, we will return to Bangkok, where we will spend our final night together with a farewell dinner. Our chosen venue is Cabbages & Condoms, a unique restaurant known for its social progress initiatives. By dining here, we directly support The Population & Community Development Association (PDA) and its various programs in primary health, education, HIV/AIDS, rural development, environment, and water.
